Metro: Last Light Review - PixlBit

PixlBit | "Metro: Last Light's first achievement may be the fact it exists. As a sequel to an atmospheric first-person shooter adapted from Russian literature, it was already a risky game before development even started. Bad working conditions, delayed release, and THQ's bankruptcy followed. Yet despite everything going against it, Last Light has emerged from the darkness to become one of the year's best games so far."

Metro Last Light Review - GameTillYouDrop -

A post-nuclear-apocalypse set in the ruins of a destroyed city where your main mode of getting from place to place is through underground railways. Has Bethesda made another Fallout? Unfortunately they havent and I am left longing for the day that they do release Fallout 4, but Metro: Last Light will certainly make the time going by a hell of a lot more enjoyable. While I did draw similarities between Metro and Fallout, Metro is different because you can kill Nazis as well as Communists now. Metro: Last light implements a whole bunch of mechanics that in the wrong hands would have fallen apart instantly, but fortunately, 4A pulled it off and created a damned good experience, albeit with a few flaws.

Daniel of PopCults.com writes "If I were to summarize Metro: Last Light into one word, it would be atmosphere. This game is drunk with it. From the HUD (or lack thereof), to your oxygen counter, and even the dirt and grime you get on your face mask (which you can wipe off), Metro: Last Light does everything it can to make you feel immersed in the experience."

Metro: Last Light Review - Sluggish Start, Strong Finish - Pixels for Breakfast

Added: 30.05.2013 14:23 | 4 views | 0 comments

Pixels for Breakfast writes: Metro: Last Light is a decent game, but a slow start and shooting mechanics that feel heavy and sluggish detract from the atmosphere the story creates. If you havent played the original game, Last Light is a great start. For those of you who have, expect more of the same. If you have a spare ten hours, its worth checking out, just dont expect a revolution.

Why Metro: Last Light is One of the Best Games Ive Played this Generation

Added: 30.05.2013 1:17 | 1 views | 0 comments

Sean of Gamer Euphoria writes: ''Earlier this year, Bioshock: Infinite dazzled the masses; its story was proclaimed as one of the best in the history of video games, its world was held in high esteem, as was the game overall, and critics and players alike looked past its faults and heaped on the praise. Game of the yearno wait, of the generation!, some claimed. While I enjoyed the game, (although I do feel Infinite peaks in the first few hours, with the middle being rather average and the ending decent) I found myself being blown away by another title: Metro: Last Light. It left me in awe, and not just because its utterly beautiful, either.''

When the echoes of the past have you in their grip, clawing your way out seems to be the only option. Shadows that are illuminated by lighting bolts dont just seem to move, they do move. Ghostly images of past lives litter the world and you sense, if not outright feel, their chilled hands clinging to you in search of warmth. These are just a few of the haunting examples you will stumble across in Metro: Last Light. Even though its a direct sequel of Metro 2033, Last Light stands as its own game.
